Our history

It started with timber in hand.

Wood Store grew out of years spent around timber and joinery, the benches, the offcuts, and the patient work of turning rough board into something clean and considered.

That hands-on background is where the eye for a good, honest piece came from. Time at the bench teaches you how timber wants to move, where a curve should sit, and how a joint should feel long before it ever looks right.

We carried that habit into Wood Store. We choose solid materials, work them with restraint, and make everyday pieces that are as good to live with as they are to look at, designed and sold right here in New Zealand.

Still hands-on, still local.

Not much has changed in spirit. Every order is checked, wrapped and sent by our own team from our Christchurch base, loaded into the van and out the door with the same care we would want for our own home.
