A wooden wall shelf with five coat hooks hidden underneath. Hang coats and bags below, keep keys and sunglasses on top.

The problem with most coat racks is what they look like empty — a row of naked hooks sticking out of a wall. This one solves it. The hooks sit tucked underneath the shelf, out of sight from the front, so whether it's holding a full week of coats or nothing at all, the rack reads as a single clean shelf.

Above, the top is flat and useful: a diffuser, a small plant, keys, sunglasses, a stack of post. It's the surface a hallway is usually missing.

Can you see the hooks?
Not from the front. They hang from the metal back plate under the shelf, behind the timber band.

How far does it stick out from the wall?
75mm in total. 55mm of that is usable shelf on top.

Do the hooks fold away?
No. They're fixed, so there's nothing to flip down. They're always ready to use.

How do I put it up?
Two screws in the wall with the heads left a few millimetres out, then slide the keyhole slots on the back over them. Full steps, drawings and dimensions are in the technical sheet (PDF).
